CUAET

Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET)

The Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program was introduced by the Government of Canada as a special immigration measure to support Ukrainians and their family members affected by the war in Ukraine. Through this program, eligible applicants can come to Canada quickly, stay temporarily, and access work and study opportunities.

What the CUAET Offers
  • Temporary Stay in Canada – Ukrainians and their immediate family members can apply to stay in Canada as temporary residents.
  • Open Work Permits – Eligible applicants may obtain open work permits, allowing them to work for almost any employer in Canada.
  • Study Permits – Children and adults can apply for study permits to attend school or pursue higher education.
  • Visa-Free Travel Documents – Multiple-entry visas and biometrics exemptions (in certain cases) make travel and entry easier.

Who Can Apply?
  • Ukrainian citizens.
  • Immediate family members of Ukrainian citizens (spouse, common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependents), regardless of nationality.

Program Updates
The CUAET program has evolved over time, and some deadlines or eligibility criteria may change. It is important to stay informed about current government announcements to make sure your application is submitted correctly and on time.

Canada has opened its doors to Ukrainians in need. I am here to make sure you and your family can access the opportunities and safety that this program provides.
